Privacy policy for FPL Pulse

Effective date:

Last updated:

FPL Pulse is an Android app that shows automated summaries of public Fantasy Premier League discussion, alongside player, fixture and live data from the official game. This policy explains what the app and this website do with data, and what they do not.

The short version

  • The app has no account and no sign-in. You do not give us your name, email address or anything else about yourself to use it.
  • The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no crash-reporting services.
  • Nothing you type in the app leaves your phone. Search runs on your phone over data it has already loaded.
  • To show editions, players, fixtures and live scores, the app fetches them from our service. To show player photos and club crests, it fetches them from the Premier League. Like any web request, those carry your IP address.

Who we are

The controller of any personal data described here is:

Dan Ballance

Email: privacy@bitshield.dev

If you are in the UK, the EEA or another place with privacy rights, contact us at that address with any privacy question, complaint or request about your data.

What the app sends and receives

Editions, players, fixtures and live scores

The app requests this content from the FPL Pulse service. Each request carries your phone’s IP address and standard request details such as the app version. The app does not send an identifier for you or your phone. The service runs on Amazon Web Services, which may log requests, including IP addresses, for security and operations. Logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify or profile anyone.

Player photos and club crests

Images load from the Premier League’s content delivery network at resources.premierleague.com. Those requests go to the Premier League’s servers and are covered by its privacy policy, not ours.

Sources you open

Every story lists its sources. Opening one hands the link to your browser. The site you open, such as YouTube or X, has its own privacy policy. We do not learn which sources you open.

What stays on your phone

The app keeps the following in its private storage on your phone:

  • Saved copies of the latest edition, scores and player data, so the app opens without a connection.
  • Which stories you have read.
  • Your appearance and motion settings.

None of this leaves your phone. It is removed when you clear the app’s storage in Android settings or uninstall the app.

Google Play

Installing and updating the app through Google Play means Google processes data under Google’s privacy policy. Google gives us aggregate statistics about installs and, if you have chosen to share them with developers, crash and performance reports. These do not identify you to us. We do not add any crash-reporting service of our own.

People named in stories

Stories are generated from public videos, posts and articles published by Fantasy Premier League creators. They name footballers, managers and the creators whose work they draw on, together with figures from the official game such as prices and ownership. We process this public information to summarise public discussion of the game. If you publish FPL content and would like your channel left out of our sources, or you believe a story is inaccurate about you, contact us at the address above.

Children

The app is not aimed at children under 13 and does not ask anyone for personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data in some other way, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict personal data about you, object to its processing, and ask for a copy in a portable form. Because the app holds no account and no record of who uses it, most requests will have nothing for us to act on, but we will always tell you what we found. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your local supervisory authority.

This website

This website is static and sets no cookies. It has no analytics and no forms. It is served by Cloudflare, which processes request logs, including IP addresses, as our provider for security and operations. Fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser requests font files from Google’s servers; that request includes your IP address and browser details and is covered by Google’s privacy policy. Links to Google Play take you to Google’s site.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change would make the app collect personal data it does not collect today, the app will say so before it starts.
